Swiss Gemmological Institute does make-over on laboratory reports, launches mobile website and Chinese-language mirror site
The Swiss Gemmological Institute (SSEF) has announced a make-over to change the look and design of its Diamond Grading Reports, Gemstone Reports and Test Reports. SSEF Director Dr. Michael S. Krzemnicki said that the new design and layout made the reports easier to read.
"The SSEF laboratory reports command a high level of trust in the international diamond, gem and jewellery trade," Krzemnicki noted. "Of course, the prominent position of the SSEF logo on the reports symbolizes and highlights the Swiss quality of our services and reflects our enduring integrity and professionalism in gem testing," he added.
While the content of the Gemstone and Test Reports remains unchanged, the SSEF Diamond Grading Report has been slightly modified, containing more information about the quality of the diamond being graded. The reports for round brilliant diamonds now also include the SSEF cut grade, with the term "excellent' designating the highest quality for the cut grade, the symmetry and the polish. SSEF Diamond Grading Reports now also report on the type of diamond as an additional comment.
In its endeavour to make the SSEF website more accessible to the target communities it serves, and in particular in response to strong demand for SSEF's gem testing services, both in Hong Kong and greater China, the lab has introduced a Chinese-language version of its website - www.hk.ssef.ch. The site is available both in traditional and simplified Chinese.
The renowned gemmological laboratory announced that it has also released a mobile version of its English-language website. To facilitate users of smart phones, SSEF also unveiled its mobile website at www.ssef.ch/mobile. "Many of our clients told us they would like to have access and remain informed about SSEF's services and gemmological news while they are on the road. With our mobile website, they will now be able to do so," Krzemnicki explained.
